  The children have made a fabulous start to Year One and we are very proud of their smooth transition from Reception.   This half term our topic has been My World and Me and we have learnt lots of facts about our bodies, our senses as well as helping our teachers to learn about us and our families.  This topic has also included map work.  Here we are enjoying our learning...

We studied the story "We're going on a Lion Hunt" in English and went outside to hunt for our very own lion!  Look - we found one! On the school grounds!

 

  

As part of our topic work, we designed our very own Mr Potato Head and made sure he had all of the correct body parts for each of his 5 senses....

                                                                                                                    

 We used an app called "Virtuali-Tee" to look inside our bodies.  It was amazing and we took a tour of lots of our organs and skeleton.  

  

  We brought in photos from home and ordered them on a timeline, baby, toddler, child.  We considered lots of changes that had happened since we were born and all of our achievements as we have grown.
